It is time that theological bullies stop maligning other belief systems as "cults" or "cultish." Cult comes from the Latin word cultus and simply means to adore or worship. This means anything and everything from Jesus to Elvis can imaginably be adored, so, in actuality, probably all religions are cults in this sense. The modern English word cult was invented to use as a maligning slur to put down opposing belief systems which threatened to take members away from the predominant group. All people have the right to believe what they wish as long as they are not hurting others. For those that are seeking what is good each must walk their own path of spiritual discovery.
