My opinions are my own ... For me, recovery comes from change and change is choice which comes from within. I look to others with similar life challenges for insight and emotional support.While here I have realized a need for individual, self-empowered, non-dogmatic, free-thinking, secular recovery. As I have experienced human growth and found my own path in recovery and life, I have found some who behave defensively and even angrily towards these expressions of individuality :( - 'Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
