Mike Parrish has been writing songs since childhood just as his lifelong friend Sammy Hundley. While Mike took a few detours away from the music world, serving a hitch in the U.S. Army and afterward making a career in law enforcement as a Texas Peace Officer, Sammy continued honing his craft becoming one of the greatest guitar, bass guitar and keyboard players you'd ever hope to find. After quite a few years, Mike & Sammy both ended up returning to their hometown and upon hooking up with each other again they went about the business of making music. Sammy, who was playing with Houston's "The Ruse" introduced Mike to Ruse Drummer Alan Dossett at a nightspot called "The Velvet Melvin" and once Mike heard Alan's grooves he knew he'd eventually get Alan to lay the drum tracks for his album "You Done Messed With Texas" which was in it's infancy at the time.
