Gandhi once said, My life is my message . I believe this is true of all of us. I am a single mother, a full-time college student, and over coming some personal circumstances. My son is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I work hard each day to show him how much his loved and to keep him safe. My education is equally important because with it I will be able to help take care of my friends and family. The main personal circumstance that I am overcoming is that I am in a wheelchair. I hesitate even to put this in my introduction, not because I am embarrassed or ashamed in the least. I am fortunate because there is a chance that I will walk again one day. My friends and family wait anxiously for that day. For me, I am content with whatever the outcome may be, because I have gained tremendous knowledge, courage, and strength from this experience. I am looking for friends that can handle awkward situations, that can laugh when all seems hopeless, and who enjoy life.

Dec 12, 2011 - 12:49:47 PMI broke my back and had Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) because of an accident thirty-nine-month ago. Doctors said I might not survive and recover fully with the TBI. They were wrong. Today, because of my faith in God, inner-strength and determination and desire to live a full life again, I can. Just take one day at a time and keep working towards you goals and you will do fine. I used a walker for a while, but working out four days a week and accepting what comes as me leading a normal life again. Hope, this helps give you a better perspective and do not worry about the wheelchair. You are alive. God Bless JG
