On December 22, 2012 will not end the world or a catastrophe will occur, nor is there any Mayan prophecy about it, as has been reported in some claims without scientific support, warned experts at the Center for Maya Studies (CMS), the Institute of Philological Research (IIFL) of the UNAM. In their calendar, the Mayans did not describe a prophecy, but the end of a cycle of 13 bactunes, equivalent to five thousand 125 years, and the beginning of another stage. This culture had a circular notion of time, which means that history will repeat at some point. A bactun is a unit of Mayan time 144,000 days equivalent to the Western calendar, multiplied by 13 bactunes, this figure yields a cycle of five thousand 125 years, ending on December 22, 2012. If you close a period of 13 bactunes, launches another equally, and the only thing that will happen, the Mayans never spoke of the Apocalypse, destruction, or cataclysms. The World is yours and everything on it. Just dont spoil it.
