Windows firewall doesn't stop outbound traffic. You can block all outbound traffic (http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=462) which is fairly simple however, then you have to configure all your programs to enable them access to the internet as needed which is not so simple. Such as AVG, Paltalk, or what ever software you use that needs access to the internet. This is a complicated process! But fortunately there is an easier way. There is a program made by Sphinx Software. It's works similar to ZoneAlarm and it's free. Zonealarm does not currently offer (there is a beta version) a free version for Vista 64-bit operating system. Vista Firewall Control will show a popup every time there is traffic inbound or outbound and ask you what you want to do. Once you decide to enable or disable it won't bother you again and you can go back and easliy edit or change the configuration. You can get Vista Firewall Control here: http://www.sphinx-soft.com/Vista/order.html
