Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana and a renowned Banker and Economist is the Founder and a Director of Starlife Assurance Company Limited. He is also the founder and Chairman of Star Assurance Company, Dr Duffuor is currently the chairman of UniBank Ghana Limited , the Chairman of Ghana Heart Foundation and also a Patron of Ghana society of Internal Medicine . He holds a Ph.D, MA and MBA degrees from Syracuse University in New York and a BSC.(Economics) degree from the University of Ghana . He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Prior to his appointment as the Governor of the Central Bank of Ghana, Dr. Duffuor had worked with Ghana Commercial Bank for 26 years and had become the General Manager and Head of Ghana Commercial Bank, London office .He worked ,research and taught Economics, Finance and Banking in Ghana and abroad. Dr.Duffuor has served on the board of several private and public institutions both in Ghana and overseas including the Ashanti Goldfields Co. , Shell Ghana Limited , Accra Brewery Limited and Ecobank La Cote d’Ivoire .
