Holy friendship is an important Church Teaching to me. I am currently in Arkansas re-establishing life in the US after four years in Australia as a student and WYD (World Youth Day) 2008 pilgrim. I have been catholic for approximately 10 years now. Graced by grandparent's example in conjunction with childhood curiosity and seriousness, I read Scripture 3 times completely very young as a non-catholic Methodist. I had a strong prayer life then that I am still trying to fully recover. :) I became catholic because a childhood question of teaching and humility was answered by understanding Peter's role and discovering a few catholic bishops, popes, and people in the Bible: St. Cephas/Kephas (Peter), St. Linus, St. Claudia, St. Clement, St. Stachys and possibly the story of St. Thomas in India. The historical and catholic links of these people in the Bible is too much coincidence for me.
